Illinois Official Pleads Guilty to Extortion Scheme, Lying to Federal Agents

Walter Dontez Hill, of Belleville, Illinois, pled guilty to using his official position as the Deputy Liquor Commissioner for the City of East St. Louis to solicit and obtain money and property not due him or his office from liquor license holders in East St. Louis that included cash, liquor, and requests for sexual favors. Hill also made false statements to agents of the FBI and IRS pertaining to whether he ever accepted money from businesses that he regulated and whether he ever used another individual to make collections from a liquor store manager in East St. Louis who he was extorting.



New Jersey School Bus Driver Sentenced for Possessing Child Pornography

William C. Murphy, of Wanaque, New Jersey, who was employed as a school bus driver from 1999 until the time of his arrest, was sentenced to three years in prison for possessing approximately 241 images and approximately 150 videos containing child pornography that he downloaded from the Internet.



Kosovar National Charged in North Carolina with Terrorism Violations

Bajram Asllani, a resident of Mitrovica, Kosovo, was charged in Raleigh, North Carolina with providing material support to terrorists and conspiring to murder, kidnap, maim, and injure persons abroad.



Texas Serial Bank Robber Sentenced

Samuel Johns Dickey, of Dallas, was sentenced to eight years in federal prison and ordered to pay nearly $9000 in restitution for robbing five First Convenience Banks in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex between October 23 and November 4, 2009.



Ohio Builder Charged with Bankruptcy Fraud in Superseding Indictment

Bernard J. Kurlemann, of Mason, Ohio, was charged in a superseding indictment with committing bankruptcy fraud by hiding assets when he filed bankruptcy on behalf of his company, luxury home builder Kurlemann Builders, Inc.
