Attorney Gerald M. Shaw, of Newport Beach, California, and Gregory De Lavalette, formerly of of Rancho Santa Fe, California, pled guilty to wire fraud in connection with a high-yield investment program that took in millions of dollars from victims who were promised rates of return as high as 40 percent a week.

Simmons, of Corpus Christi, Texas, who was convicted of 13 counts of willfully using a cellular telephone or other instrument of interstate or foreign commerce in making bomb threats to the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD), was 10 years in federal prison on each count, to be served concurrently. Simmons was also ordered to pay $210,000 in restitution to the CCAD for the costs associated with the evacuation of employees and other actions taken in response to the bomb threats.



South Carolina Woman Charged with Wire Fraud
