Former Detroit Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick, of Southlake, Texas, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Detroit with 10 counts of mail fraud, three counts of wire fraud, five counts of filing a false tax return, and one count of tax evasion.

Texas House of Representatives member and dentist Tara R. Rios Ybarra DDS, of South Padre Island, Texas, along with Diana Woo Paparelli DDS and Colbert J. Glenn DDS, of McAllen, Texas, were indicted for allegedly illegally referring Medicaid beneficiaries to Gary Morgan Schwarz DDS in exchange for remuneration.

Former Woonsocket Police Officer John H. Douglas pled guilty in Providence, Rhode Island to a federal criminal civil rights charge for assaulting a juvenile who was in his custody.
Louisiana Police Captain, Security Company Owner Charged in Kickback Scheme

Michael Roussel, of New Orleans, Louisiana and a captain with the New Orleans Police Department, and Joseph Branch, of Brownsboro, Texas and owner of Gladius, Inc., were charged with being involved in a wire fraud scheme to pay and to receive kickbacks under a contract to provide armed security guards following a hurricane.
