Owner of New Jersey-Based Construction Company Pleads Guilty in Fraud Schemes

David Slabon, of Sea Girt, New Jersey, the president of New Jersey-based commercial construction company Designline Construction Services, pled guilty to engaging in two different criminal conspiracies aimed at defrauding Charlie Brown's Acquisition Corporation and P.C. Richard and Son Corporation.



Illinois Contractor Convicted on Federal Fraud and Tax Charges

John M. Volpentesta, formerly of Marengo, Illinois, was convicted of two counts of mail fraud, two counts of wire fraud, 11 counts of failing to pay over to the IRS taxes he withheld from the wages of his employees, three counts of failing to file unemployment tax returns, and three counts of failing to file personal income tax returns in connection with his operation of a residential construction business.

South Dakota Man Sentenced on Drug Distribution Charge

Charles Schrader, of Pine Ridge, South Dakota, was sentenced to 33 months in prison for distributing marijuana on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.



Non-Profit Exec Pleads Guilty in New York to Embezzlement and Fraud Charges

Marilyn John, an employee of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the former executive director of the Caribbean Women's Health Association, a non-profit entity that received federal, state, and city funds, pled guilty in Manhattan federal court to one count of embezzling federal funds and one count of conspiring to commit wire and bank fraud.



Former Alabama Bank Exec Pleads Guilty to Embezzlement Charges

James E. Goldsborough, a former president and executive vice president of PeoplesSouth Bank in Dotham, Alabama, pled guilty to embezzling more than $1.8 million in bank funds.



Florida Men Arrested on Bank Robbery Charges

Pennsylvania Man Sentenced for Role in Internet Fraud Scheme

Evigeny Tarasenko, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 37 months in prison for a fraud scheme in which he and his wife, Ellena Ossiptchouk, leased vehicles and then sold them on eBay and other Internet sites. The defendants defrauded their victims of at least $181,000 through this scheme.



Former Alabama Pharmacy Technician Pleads Guilty to Health Care Fraud

Charlotte Turley, of Rainbow City, Alabama, pled guilty to health care fraud totaling more than $330,000 for illegal prescription reimbursements she received while working as a pharmacy technician at a discount department store in East Gadsden.



Maryland Man Sentenced for Leading $3.8 Million Mortgage Fraud Scheme

Timothy Reed, of Beltsville, Maryland, was sentenced to 51 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for mail fraud arising from the fraudulent purchase of 25 properties in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia using false mortgage and settlement documents.
