Maryland Trucker Guilty of Transporting 11-Year-Old Girl to Have Sex

Grand Prairie, Texas resident Elmer Zelaya-Robles, who worked for a Maryland trucking company, pled guilty to transporting an 11-year-old girl from Maryland to engage in sex. Zelaya-Robles claimed he was in love with the girl and planned to reside with her in Dallas, Texas.



Connecticut Man Sentenced for Role in Drug Trafficking Organization

Anthony Popejoy, of Kokomo, Indiana, was sentenced to 37 months in prison following his guilty pleas to attempted possession with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute less than 500 grams of cocaine.

Illinois Police Officer Sentenced for Civil Rights Violation

Whitehead, of Marion, Illinois, formerly a police officer for the city of Marion, was sentenced for willfully and without legal justification kicking an arrested person two times, despite the fact that the person's hands were cuffed behind his back as he sat in the back seat of the police car.



Texas Man Guilty of Federal Firearms Violations Related to Robbery

Robert Earle Toole, of Tyler, Texas, pled guilty to his role in a store robbery in which 20 firearms were stolen. The offense is a federal crime because the store owner held a federal firearms dealers license.

County Commissioner, Wife Sentenced in Texas for Health Care Fraud

Former Hidalgo County (Texas) Commissioner Guadalupe Garces Jr. and his wife, Araceli Garces, were sentenced to 41 months and 33 months in prison, respectively, following their convictions on multiple counts of health care fraud arising from the submission of millions of dollars in false and fraudulent claims to both the Medicare and Medicaid health care programs.



Virginia Office Manager Sentenced for Embezzling Funds

Joseph R. Buckelew III, of East Brunswick, New Jersey, who works in the youth section of the East Brunswick Publi, c Librarywas charged with possessing child pornography. Buckelew allegedly created a 19-year-old female Internet persona that he used to chat online with teenage males, ranging in ages from 14 to 16 years old, and to induce those minor children to send naked photos of themselves to Buckelew.



New Jersey Man Indicted on Child Pornography Charge

Hector Morales, a former employee at the United States Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command in Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey, was charged with allegedly possessing child pornography while on the arsenal.



Two California Men Indicted for Defrauding City of Sacramento

Minnesota Man Charged with Kidnapping, Interstate Transport of 13-Year-Old Girl

Leader of California Armed Robbery Crew Sentenced to More Than 22 Years in Prison

Kao Saeturn, of Richmond, California, was sentenced to 272 months in prison for leading a crew that committed a series of armed robberies in which the victims (many of whom were teenage girls) were held at gunpoint, threatened with death, and physically restrained. Saeturn and his crew typically took the victims' cash, credit/debit cards, and identifications, and used the proceeds to buy methamphetamine, which Saeturn and his crew smoked habitually.
