Former Bosnian Serb Soldiers Sentenced in Arizona for Refugee Fraud

Eleven individuals who served in the Republic of Srpska Army (VRS) during the civil war in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been sentenced in Phoenix for failing to disclose they had been soldiers in the VRS when they applied for refugee status in the U.S. following the end of the war. Five of the original 16 defendants were deported from the U.S. and returned to Bosnia and Herzegovina.



Company Fined $3.3 Million in Georgia for Role in Customer Allocation Conspiracy

New York corporation Kason Industries Inc., a food service equipment manufacturer whose principal place of business is Newnan, Georgia, was sentenced to pay a $3.3 million criminal fine for conspiring to allocate customers in the food service equipment hardware market, including walk-in refrigeration equipment.



Illinois Man Charged in Connection with $3.7 Million Ponzi Scheme

Joseph A. Dawson, of Fox Lake, Illinois, was charged with engaging in a Ponzi-type fraud scheme, cheating more than two dozen victims of approximately $3.7 million dollars they invested with a trading firm he owned.
