Second Conspirator Pleads Guilty to 37 Gold Burglaries in Virginia

Dagoberto Soto-Ramirez, of New York, New York, pled guilty in Alexandria, Virginia to conspiring to steal at least $500,000 worth of gold and other valuables from 37 residences in Northern Virginia and to transport that stolen property to New York to sell. Soto-Ramirez's wife also pled guilty to her role in the scheme.



Pennsylvania Man Sentenced for Reproducing and Selling Copyrighted Movies

Randolph Scott Robson, of Erie, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to two years of probation and 50 hours of community for reproducing and distributing approximately 1,500 copyrighted movies for a fee.

California Mortgage Lender Employee Sentenced for Perjury

Ngo, of San Ramon, California, was sentenced to nine months in prison after admitting to lying under oath before a federal grand jury when he denied that he had received thousands of dollars in kickbacks from a mortgage broker involved in a mortgage fraud scheme.

Internet Gambling Company to Forfeit $33 Million in Illegal Gambling Proceeds

Sportingbet PLC, an Internet gambling company incorporated in England and Wales and publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange, entered into a plea agreement with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York to forfeit a total of $33 million, representing illegal Internet gambling proceeds that the company provided to U.S. customers.



Creator of International Identity Theft Website Extradited from Czech Republic

Dmitry M. Naskovets, the creator and operator of CallService.biz, an online business that assisted over 2,000 identity thieves in over 5,000 instances of fraud, was extradited from the Czech Republic to New York on charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to commit credit card fraud, and aggravated identity theft.



Georgia Woman Pleads Guilty to Credit Union Embezzlement

Lisa R. Cox, of Macon, Georgia, pled guilty to one count of embezzlement by a credit union employee and one count of making a false entry in credit union records in connection with her alleged embezzlement of nearly $625,000 from the credit union where she worked.
