Alabama Legislators, Others Charged in Conspiracy to Influence Legislation

Eleven individuals, including four current Alabama state legislators, three lobbyists, two business owners and one of their employees, and an employee of the Alabama legislature have been charged for their roles in a conspiracy to offer to and to bribe legislators for their votes and influence on proposed legislation.



Partners Plead Guilty to Embezzling Over $1 Million from Construction Company

Dwayne Wells, age 50, of Potomac, Maryland, and Charles K. Fash, age 52, of Rockville, pled guilty today to wire fraud in connection with a scheme to embezzle over $1 million from a mechanical engineering firm in which they were part-owners.

A 22-year-old Red Lake man pleaded guilty earlier today in federal court in Minneapolis to sexually abusing a boy on the Red Lake Indian Reservation last year.



Jury Convicts Decatur Real Estate Broker of Mortgage Loan Fraud

A federal jury deliberated approximately five and one-half hours before returning guilty verdicts on all nine counts of fraud charged against Decatur real estate broker Terry Hart for his participation in a real estate "flipping" scheme Hart’s sentencing is scheduled on Jan. 20, 2011.
