Stevon Warren, of Woodbury, Minnesota, was indicted for allegedly transporting a woman from Minnesota to Wisconsin for the purpose of having her engage in prostitution.



California Man Pleads Guilty to Methamphetamine Charges in Minnesota

Cesar Ernesto Rivas, of Sacramento, California, pled guilty in Minneapolis, Minnesota to conspiring to distribute five pounds of methamphetamine in the Twin Cities in early 2010.



Minnesota Man Pleads Guilty to Sex Trafficking a Minor

Byronte Juwann Reed, of St. Paul, Minnesota, pled guilty to transporting a minor female from Minnesota to Illinois for the purpose of committing commercial sex acts.



Six Indicted in Ohio in Medicare Fraud Scheme Linked to Organized Crime Ring

Six people were charged in Ohio with stealing identities of doctors and patients in an effort to bill Medicare for more than $40 million worth of fraudulent charges. The indictments were unsealed as part of a nationwide a sweep in which 73 people believed to be part of an Armenian organized criminal enterprise were indicted in New York, Georgia, California, and New Mexico.



Prior Sex Offender Pleads Guilty in New Mexico to Child Pornography Offense

Jordan Earl Madison, Jr., of Albuquerque, New Mexico, who had previously been convicted in Arizona of attempted molestation of a child, pled guilty to distribution and attempted distribution of child pornography.



Organized Crime Group Members Charged in New Mexico with Health Care Fraud

Seven foreign nationals were charged in Albuquerque, New Mexico with numerous felony offenses involving health care fraud. The investigations leading to these charges are part of a nationwide coordinated strike aimed at dismantling an Armenian-American organized crime enterprise that was responsible for sophisticated Medicare fraud and money laundering operations in the U.S. and abroad.



Ten Indicted in California in Connection with $17 Million Medicare Fraud Scheme

An indictment unsealed in Los Angeles charges 10 key figures in health care fraud schemes that operated in several states and allegedly submitted more than $17 million in fraudulent claims to Medicare. The Los Angeles cases, which were brought as part of an investigation called "Diagnosis Dollars," are linked to a nationwide multi-district crackdown on health care fraud.



Armenian-American Organized Crime Group Charged in $100 Million Medicare Fraud

Forty-four alleged members and associates of an Armenian-American organized crime enterprise, were indicted in New York for a range of offenses including the operation of at least 118 medical clinics located in 25 states that submitted over $100 million in bogus claims to Medicare. The alleged $100 million Medicare fraud scheme is the largest, single Medicare fraud ever charged.



Construction Manager Pleads Guilty in New York to Commercial Kickback Scheme

Lawrence Pesce, a former construction manager for Touro College, pled guilty in New York to wire fraud for defrauding Touro College out of more than $2 million through a commercial kickback scheme.



Leader of Property-Flipping Scheme and Husband Sentenced in Maryland

Minh-Vu Hoang, and her husband, Thanh Hoang, both of Bethesda, Maryland, was sentenced to five years in prison for conspiracy to defraud the IRS and the U.S. Bankruptcy Trustee in connection with a scheme to conceal millions in profits earned from the purchase and sale of hundreds of foreclosure properties. Her husband, Thanh Hoang, was sentenced to a year and a day in prison for conspiracy to impede the IRS in connection with his role in the scheme.



New Jersey Department of Corrections Executive Arrested on Bribery Charges

Lydell B. Sherrer, assistant commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Corrections' Division of Programs and Community Services, was arrested on charges of soliciting and receiving bribes in connection with his official duties.



Man Pleads Guilty in Pennsylvania to Child Enticement Charges

Michael Eugene Begin, formerly of Bradford, Pennsylvania, pled guilty to using a cellular telephone and the Internet in an effort to entice a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity. Begin also transported obscene material to a minor.



Montana Man Sentenced for Child Pornography Offense

William August Brand, of Butte, Montana, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession of child pornography.



Michigan Man Sentenced for Sexual Abuse of a Minor

George Vernon Rogers, Jr., of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, was sentenced to 180 months in federal prison for having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl at his residence. Rogers had previously been convicted in Sault Ste. Marie Tribal Court of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in 2002.



Man Sentenced in Michigan for Child Pornography Violation

Robert Andrew Faber, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a former resident of Gladstone, Michigan, was sentenced to 87 months in federal prison for receiving child pornography on compact discs from a source in Indiana which he would then make available on his computer to others seeking child pornography.



Michigan Woman Sentenced for Fatally Assaulting Her Handicapped Son

Theresa Marie Finfrock, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for assaulting her severely handicapped 7-year-old son at her residence, resulting in substantial brain injuries which ultimately led to her son's death.



Michigan Man Sentenced on Child Pornography Charge

Erik Michael Smith, of Iron Mountain, Michigan, was sentenced to 235 months in federal prison for receipt of child pornography, admitting that he had obtained child pornography on the Internet and that he used file sharing applications on his computer to receive and distribute child pornography to other child pornographers he had met in Internet chat rooms.
