Guatemalan Citizen Sentenced in Connecticut for Transporting Minor for Sex

Walter Aguilar, a citizen of Guatemala, was sentenced in Bridgeport, Connecticut to 52 months in prison for transporting a 14-year-old girl from Connecticut to Maryland for the purpose of engaging in unlawful sexual activity. Aguilar will be deported to Guatemala following service of his term of imprisonment.



Maryland Police Officer Sentenced for Civil Rights Violation

Former Baltimore Police Department Officer Gregory Mussmacher was sentenced to five years in prison for violating the civil rights of a juvenile arrestee by physically abusing the juvenile, who was in his custody, and for obstructing justice to cover up what he had done.



Georgia Man Pleads Guilty in Multi-Million-Dollar Timber Fraud Scheme

Aaron Wilbert Freeman, of Rome, Georgia, pled guilty to multiple charges related to his scheme to cause Temple-Inland, Inc. to pay more than $4 million between 2003 and 2006 for timber that did not exist.



California Couple Guilty of False Arrest While Impersonating Law Enforcement Officers

Raymond Denny, Jr. and his wife, Karen Denny, of Hemet, California, pled guilty in connection with falsely arresting and attempting to deport an individual while impersonating law enforcement officers.



Three Missouri Men Indicted in Cocaine Conspiracy

Michael Jerome Walker, Jr., Matthew Raymond Olsson, and Corey Wayne Everage, all of Columbia, Missouri, were indicted by a federal grand jury for their roles in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine in Boone County, Missouri.



Maryland Man Pleads Guilty to Embezzling Over $370,000 from Employer

Timothy C. Kany, Sr., of Bel Air, Maryland pled guilty to mail fraud arising from a scheme to embezzle over $370,000 from his employer, K-Line America, the American subsidiary of a multinational corporation specializing in international ocean cargo transportation, where he worked as a manager.



Rhode Island Man Convicted on Child Pornography Charges

David Chiaradio, of Westerly, Rhode Island, was convicted of one count of distribution of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography. During a search of Chiaradio's computers and related media, more than 6,000 images and videos of child pornography were discovered.



Illinois Man Charged in $5 Million Investment Fraud Scheme

Scott M. Ross, of Woodstock, Illinois, was charged with allegedly engaging in an investment fraud scheme that swindled more than $5 million from approximately 150 victims who invested in funds he purported to operate.



Serial Bank Robber Sentenced in Pennsylvania

Shannon R. Hamilton, formerly of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 151 months in prison for committing four bank robberies in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, and one bank robbery in Saint Petersburg, Florida.



Pennsylvania Judge Pleads Guilty to Corrupt Receipt of Reward for Official Action

Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas Judge Michael T. Toole, of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, admitted accepting a reward from an attorney in exchange for improperly ruling in the attorney's favor in a proceeding relating to an uninsured/underinsured motorist arbitration matter.
